Pierre Jules MENE, after Valet de chasse (Louis XV) and his herd A large bronze group with a shaded brown patina and medallion (slight traces of rubbing, soiling, two replaced threads underneath), posthumous edition cast, on the terrace: P.J. MENE 1869, two lacunar cold stamps SAINT MAUR in a circle. Height: 64 cm - Width: 73 cm BIBLIOGRAPHY: Pierre-Jules Mêne, Catalogue raisonné, Michel Poletti and Alain Richarme, similar subject reproduced on pages 26 and 27, III. 15 and III. 16 with variations, notably in the hat and the rider's attire, as well as a knot on the horse's tail. These variations are to be compared with the Veneur Louis XV à cheval (without his herd) reproduced on page 29 of the catalogue raisonné.
