Hénin was founded in Paris in 1861 in partnership with Hippolyte Thomas. It later became Hénin & Cie. For more than a century, the company was renowned for its luxury flatware, drawing its inspiration from past styles and working with the greatest silversmiths, such as Odiot. The items we are presenting belonged to a dinner service made by Thomas around 1850, which was later completed by Hénin around 1900. For another service, bearing the SAID PACHA coat of arms, by Hippolyte Thomas and Jean-Louis Hénin, see: Christie's sale, 26 May 2020, lot 253.
