[Manuscript]. [Avallon]. [Medicine]. GAGNIARD (Edmi). Diary [of Dr Edmi Gagniard, 1804–1877]. Folio-sized register, in a modest contemporary grey half-cloth binding (worn), 505 numbered leaves, written in fine, rapid handwriting which is nevertheless fairly legible. This is not a register of consultations, but a collection of notes on the various medical conditions and other situations (childbirth, etc.) with which the doctor is confronted, and the solutions he may offer. Attached is an alphabetical index (a small quarto notebook), 4 folios of advertisements, 3 obituaries and a handwritten note on cases of poisoning. Attributed to the author on the basis of a typewritten note.
