COURTÉPÉE (Claude); BEGUILLET (Edme). General and Detailed Description of the Duchy of Burgundy, preceded by a historical summary of this province. Published in Dijon by L. N. Frantin; and sold in Paris by Delalain, and in Autun by Dejussieu... 1775–1781.
6 volumes in-8, contemporary havana-coloured calfskin with grained finish, smooth spine, green lettering and volume numbers, gilt scrolls (minor defects including a snag on one cap, worm-eaten stitching on one joint, vol. 1 p. 209 torn with traces of adhesive).
First edition of volumes II to VI; volume I – first published in 1774 – is a second edition, expanded to include a preface. The work is illustrated with 5 engraved plates, 3 of which are fold-outs. A seventh and final posthumous volume was published in 1785.
