POULAINE (François). A significant collection of historical and archaeological publications. 1890–1911. 27 issues in 12mo and 8vo formats, including 2 bound volumes (shows signs of wear). The studies cover prehistoric archaeology, Christian archaeology, the Cure Valley and the Avallonnais region in particular. The collection includes a copy of ‘Les grottes quaternaires de Saint-Moré’, 1890, extensively annotated by the author; several other volumes contain handwritten annotations. Also included are: 2 autograph letters signed by the author and a visiting card signed with his initials. - A letter from Henri Corot de Savoisy to the author. - A small in-12 volume in half-vellum containing press articles by Abbé Poulaine. - A substantial small folio volume in black half-percaline binding containing various press articles, probably compiled by Abbé Poulaine (according to a Dymo label on the spine: ‘Recueil abbé Poulaine’).
