Description
[Posters and notices]. [Burgundy]. [First Empire]. A collection of small posters and notices, the vast majority of which advertise various property sales (houses, land, woodland, etc.) in Burgundy. 1804–1815. Fold marks, a few tears and soiling, but a fine collection. The Gregorian year is stamped in the margin of each item, and in most cases the printer’s name is typed. The majority of these items were printed in Avallon. Some documents bear old annotations. 71 sheets, including some documents in duplicate or multiple copies and others comprising several sheets. A few documents are proclamations and judgements, and one of them is a poster from the *Nouvelles de la Grande Armée* dated 1813. Four posters from 1816 are included. That makes a total of 75 sheets.
