[BROSSES DE TOURNAY (Charles de), THESUT DE VERREY, LE COMPASSEUR DE COURTIVRON (Gaspard)]. Catalogues and coats of arms of the gentry who attended the Estates General of the Duchy of Burgundy, from the year MDXLVIII to the year MDCLXXXII. Taken from the registers of the Chamber of the Nobility. Dijon: J.-F. Durand, 1760. Folio, [1] leaf, 79–77 pp., French, with plates, contemporary mottled havana calfskin, spine with 7 raised bands, red title label, ornate panels, red edges, repairs (top cap missing, 3 corners worn, side margins of title page and frontispiece replaced, repair in the margin on p. 15, foxing on the frontispiece, some browning). First edition of this armorial, illustrated with an allegorical frontispiece engraved by Saint-Aubin after Cochin the Younger, and 36 plates of coats of arms, engraved by Durand, in Dijon, who was also the publisher of the work. An old handwritten note in the margin of the frontispiece: ‘Le Baron d’Anstrude’.
