Three volumes in-8, contemporary speckled fawn half-basane, plain spine, red title label, volume number on a red medallion, gilt scrolls and fillets, red edges (tears repaired in vol. 1, pp. 80 and 128; rare and very slight foxing).
Bound at the end of volume 3 is the work: *On Counter-Letters, Considered in Relation to Obligations...* by De Plasman, Paris, Nève, 1822, 114 pp.
O. J. Chardon (1762–1856), a lawyer, was President of the Civil Court of Auxerre.
This copy is enriched with approximately 60 autograph letters signed by the author, addressed to the book’s publisher, Comynet, between 1837 and 1839.
