In-8, 240 pp., [1] folio (errata), brown half-shagreen binding circa 1900, spine with four raised bands, author’s name and title in gold, decorated panels, untrimmed (slight foxing, a few stains).
The only edition of this poem in which the author, a native of Avallon, portrays himself under the name of Albert-Love, referring to a distinguished lady said to be the widow of General Habert. According to an old note, ‘he committed a despicable act by writing this poem’... An autograph dedication from the author to Mr Préjean is recorded on an endpaper.
