Description
[Manuscript]. [Auxerre]. A BRIEF HISTORY of the Abbey of St Germain d’Auxerre, compiled in the year 1682 and copied in the year 1684. [Auxerre, 1853].
Folio, 207 numbered pages, green half-leather binding, smooth spine, salmon-coloured title label, label at the tail (caps slightly rubbed).
A neat manuscript, in ink on paper, copied at the request of the Reverend Joseph Duru, who prefaced it with the following handwritten note, signed and dated at Auxerre, 19 March 1853: ‘I have corrected to the best of my ability this copy, which I had prepared by scribes unfamiliar with such work, based on a copy that Mr Léon de Bastard, our colleague at the Société des Sciences Historiques de l’Yonne, had written by hand in Paris.’
