[Map. Auxerre]. [RANCUREL (Raymond)]. The town of Auxerre in Burgundy [title on the map]. Portrait or plan of the town of Auxerre [title off the map]. A perspective view, the engraving of which is attributed to Rancurel, accompanied by a cartouche identifying the town’s buildings and landmarks. A significant collection of over 250 modern prints of this plan, originally published in Paris by François de Belleforest in 1575. Photogravure on laid paper, 38 x 45 cm, including margins. The metal plate used for the print is included. Three plates of the same view, probably printed in the 18th century (holes, water stains), are also included.
