Description
[Manuscript]. [DUC (Gabriel)]. Sketches of the Avallon region [title on the cover]. N.p., [c. 1900]. In-4, loose sheets bound in thin paper cover, adhesive on the spine (cover faded with small losses). Original manuscript most likely in the author’s own hand; he published a collection bearing the same title in 1908. It contains three poems: *Pierre-Perthuis* (3 pages), *Le Cousin* (2 pages), *D’Avallon à Pontaubert* (3 pages), and the title alone of a fourth, unfinished poem, *Ma Maisonnette*. Each title page is painted, and a few pages are decorated with watercolours. The manuscript is illustrated with three old photographs and five works by the author: two reproductions and three original signed drawings.
