Théophile Alexandre STEINLEN In front of the shop windows on Place Vendôme, 1897 Original colour lithograph on fine vellum Signed on the plate Dimensions 39 x 29 cm The sheet bears the publisher’s stamp and the lithograph is also authenticated by the publisher’s dry stamp, L’Imprimerie Chaix. The lithograph was published by Les Maîtres de l’Affiche at Imprimerie Chaix in 1897. It formed part of the eponymous portfolio featuring reproductions of the finest illustrated posters by the great artists of the time. A rare supplementary sheet that was only offered to subscribers.
