COLLECTION OF EARLY BYZANTINE OPENWORK GOLD EARRINGS.
Ca. AD 600 - 800.
A collection of four gold earrings, including from left to right: an earring with an openwork plaque and a long vertical element ending in a knob; one crescent-shaped earring with open scrollwork and a border of projecting pellets; one crescent-shaped earring with fine openwork, a central rosette, and a twisted chain pendant; and one large disc-shaped earring with dense openwork lattice framed by a rope-patterned border.
