BYZANTINE GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH CENTRAL SQUARE CABOCHON.
Ca. AD 1000 - 1200.
A gold cross pendant with straight arms formed of flattened tubes, each ornamented along the centre with a raised beaded rib and finished with plain ends. The junction is set with a square bezel holding a dark green glass cabochon in a closed setting, and a small tubular suspension loop rises above the upper arm.
