BYZANTINE HIGH KARAT GOLD CROSS PENDANT WITH PALM BRANCHES. Ca. AD 600 - 800. A gold cross pendant with four rounded arms forming a clover-like shape. Each arm is decorated with a palm branch motif enclosed within a hatched border, with additional foliate and scrollwork designs extending from the centre. The suspension loop is attached above. Size: 40mm x 35mm; Weight: 3.3g Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired on the London art market in the 1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
