BYZANTINE SILVER RING WITH PATTÉE CROSS. Ca. AD 600 - 800. A silver ring with a flat circular bezel engraved with a cross pattée enclosed by a continuous border of closely spaced crescent punches. The narrow, round-section hoop is undecorated and joins the underside of the bezel. Size: D:18.14mm / US: 8 / UK: P 1/2; Weight: 2.28g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Belgium; formerly in a German private collection before 2000.
