BYZANTINE GOLD OPENWORK EARRINGS WITH PENDANTS. Ca. AD 500 - 600. A stunning set of gold Byzantine earrings. Each earring consists of a crescentic section featuring an openwork design and floral motif, framed with a gold wire. The earrings are further adorned with four chain pendants, each with pearls at the finials. The hook is joined to the concave edge, arching above and designed to hook into a loop at the other end.
