EGYPTIAN FAIENCE FIGURE OF NUDE FEMALE FIGURE HOLDING A VASE ON HER HEAD.
Third Intermediate Period, 22nd-23rd Dynasties, Ca. 945 - 715 BC. A faience figure depicting a nude female standing upright, with both hands supporting a two-handled amphora balanced on her head. Her features are rendered in a stylised manner, with elongated limbs and a flat-backed form. The surface is glazed in a cream tone with black accents emphasising the eyes, pubic triangle, decorative markings on the limbs and torso, and the vessel she carries. A rectangular block beneath the feet represents a casket of Bastet. Mounted. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 86.1.55; J.
