RARE EGYPTIAN GOLD OPENWORK PECTORAL WINGED SCARAB.
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC.
An Important Egyptian gold openwork pectoral with a winged scarab set between two horizontal bars. The beetle shows an outlined pronotum, divided elytra, and outspread wings. The reverse is hollow.

Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired on the London art market; formerly with R. Unger, Parthenon gallery, 1990s.
