EGYPTIAN AMARNA PERIOD SANDSTONE RELIEF DEPICTING ARM AND CRYING WOMAN. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A sandstone relief fragment carved in sunk relief, depicting a seated woman in profile with the body contracted and knees drawn up, the head inclined, the figure set upon a plain groundline. Size: 220mm x 110mm; Weight: 1.32kg Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s. This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement from Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
