EGYPTIAN AMARNA PERIOD SANDSTONE RELIEF DEPICTING ARM AND CRYING WOMAN.
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC.
A sandstone relief fragment carved in sunk relief, depicting a seated woman in profile with the body contracted and knees drawn up, the head inclined, the figure set upon a plain groundline.
Size: 220mm x 110mm; Weight: 1.32kg
Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s.
This piece is accompanied by an authentication statement from Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
