EGYPTIAN BRONZE HEADDRESS AND CROWN GROUP.
Late Dynastic Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A group of six bronze headdresses from figurative statuettes, including a double plume possibly indicating a statuette of Amun-Re, an atef crown for an Osiris statue, and three tripartite wigs possibly for statues of Hathor. Amun-Re, often appears with a solar disc at the base of his crown, is marked out by the motif as he who possesses both hidden and solar creative power. Size: 90-140mm x 50-80mm; Weight: 1.66kg Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
