EGYPTIAN GOLD COILED RING WITH STEATITE SCARAB / FALCON. Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC. A gold ring with a rope-twist hoop, the bezel formed by a steatite scarab/falcon amulet engraved on the underside, the amulet held between the shoulders with tight coils. For similar see: H. R. Hall, Catalogue of Egyptian scarabs, etc., in the British Museum, Introduction XXXIV. Size: D:13.83mm / US: 2 3/4 / UK: E 1/2; Weight: 3.5g Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the German art market, Munich before 2000.
