EGYPTIAN ASIATIC ALABASTER VESSEL. Early Dynastic Period, Ca. 2900 - 2640 BC. An alabaster vessel with a short, straight neck and plain, rounded rim. The ovoid body is formed with a pair of opposed, rounded lug-projections at the shoulder and set on a low, splayed foot. Size: 150mm x 90mm; Weight: 650g Provenance: Private UK collection; acquired in France; formerly with the dealer Christian Grand, Switzerland 1970s-1980s.
