LARGE EGYPTIAN BANDED CHALCITE VESSEL. New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A large banded calcite vessel with a wide everted rim above a short concave neck and slightly splayed cylindrical wall tapering to a rounded base. For similar see: A. Bevan, Stone Vessels and Values in the Bronze Age Mediterranean, fig. 7.13. Size: 115mm x 110mm; Weight: 1.57kg Provenance: Private London collection; previously in F. Piket collection, Netherlands, formed in the 1970s to the 1980s.
