COLLECTION OF EGYPTIAN STONE SCARABS.
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC.
A collection of four stone scarabs, including, from left to right: an amethyst scarab with a smooth lenticular body and a flat, undecorated base; a dark stone scarab with a domed back, marked pronotum and segmented wing cases, the base left plain; a lapis lazuli scarab with incised head and thorax, the base engraved with running animals in profile; and a pale green stone scarab with segmented dorsum, the base engraved with a standing figure.

Provenance: Property of a London gallery; previously in a collection of a North London gentleman; formerly in a collection of Mrs B. Ellison, a deceased former member of the Egyptian Exploration Fund, bought from the 1940s, Cairo and London.
