ATTIC RED-FIGURE SKYPHOS WITH OWLS. Ca. 450 BC. A red-figure skyphos with opposed horizontal handles and a deep, rounded body on a moulded ring foot. Both faces show an owl set between upright foliate sprays. A pair of thin linear bands encircles the lower body above the foot. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 41.162.128. Size: 135mm x 60mm; Weight: 75g Private London collection; previously acquired on the English art market; originally in the collection of W Jenikin, London 1980’s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
