ELEGANT ATTIC BLACK-FIGURE KYLIX WITH ANIMAL FRIEZE BY THE CIRCLE OF HAIMON PAINTER. Ca. 500 - 480 BC. A black-figure kylix with a deep, rounded bowl on a tall stem and broad disc foot, fitted with two upturned loop handles. The exterior features a reserved frieze encircling the bowl with a procession of quadrupeds and insects in black silhouette, set between glossy black bands. The interior is glazed black with a reserved central tondo marked by a ring-and-dot. For similar see: Christie's, Live Auction 4925 Antiquities, Lot 256.
