Pairs of fluted ribs run from the apex down the crown, dividing the skull into panels, and an offset brow band encircles the head. The lower edge is scalloped at the forehead and drawn down at the temples to form eye openings. Hinged circular cheek-pieces hang from the rim, each repoussé with a lion in profile within a raised border. Mounted on a modern stand.
