GREEK PERIOD BRONZE SWORD WITH CRESCENT-SHAPED POMMEL. Ca. 1200 - 900 BC. A bronze sword with a crescentic pommel, a ribbed grip, and a long tapering blade with a raised medial rib running to an acute point. For similar see: R. Matthews, H. F. Nashli, The Archaeology of Iran: from the Palaeolithic to the Achaemenid Empire, fig. 11.38, 11.43. Size: 545mm x 55mm; Weight: 765g Provenance: Private London collection; previously in F.
