MATCHED PAIR OF GREEK GOLD EARRINGS WITH WINGED EROS. Ca. 200 - 100 BC. A matched pair of gold earrings, each formed with a round-section hoop fronted by a solid figure of winged Eros. The youthful god with a rosette above the head, small wings rising behind the shoulders, arms akimbo, and a diagonal sash across the torso set with three granule clusters. The hoop returns behind the figure to a short tube. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 74.51.3507.
