ATTIC RED-FIGURE SKYPHOS WITH OWLS. Ca. 450 BC. A red-figure skyphos with horizontal handles and a deep bowl on a low ring foot, each side decorated with an owl standing right between upright foliate panels. A pair of thin linear bands encircles the lower body above the foot. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 41.162.127. Size: 125mm x 60mm; Weight: 75g Private London collection; previously acquired on the English art market; originally in the collection of T Verlinden, London 1980’s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
