APULIAN RED-FIGURE PELIKE WITH OFFERING SCENE.
Ca. 350 BC.
A terracotta red-figure pelike with a broad everted rim, twin strap handles set on the shoulder, a rounded body, and a low foot. Side A depicts a seated male, the left hand extended with a phiale of offerings and the right holding a wreath. Side B shows a standing woman extending a phiale and holding a tympanum in her other hand. Large scrolling palmettes rise beneath the handles, a laurel band ornaments the neck, and reserved lines run above the foot.
