RARE APULIAN RED-FIGURE ASKOS ON DISH.
Ca. 350 BC.
A terracotta askos with a low domed body and a high arched handle rising to a funnel-shaped spout. The upper surface is decorated in red-figure with two registers, each occupying half the top, each showing a female head in profile and a panther amid palmettes and rosettes, with a continuous ovolo border encircling the shoulder. Accompanied by a circular black-glaze dish with a raised rim.
