Description
GREEK CORINTHIAN BICHROME PYXIS.
Ca. 675 - 580 BC.
A terracotta pyxis with a wide globular body set on a low flaring foot and surmounted by a broad, upright mouth. Two opposing loop handles are applied at the shoulder, rising vertically. The surface is decorated in bichrome, the neck encircled by a chequered frieze bordered by fine concentric lines, while the body is embellished with broad horizontal bands in black and brown.
