Description

GREEK GOLD EARRING WITH EROS. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A gold earring with a figure of Eros standing frontally, the curly hair bound in a topknot and the arms akimbo, the oval face with full cheeks. The torso with a protruding abdomen and broad hips, the feet set on a small rectangular terminal fitted with a loop. A round-section wire shank issues from the back of the figure and returns to the terminal as a hooked fastening.
