APULIAN RED-FIGURE LEKANIS WITH LADY OF FASHION. Ca. 350 BC. A red-figure pottery lekanis on a flaring foot with two horizontal handles and a separate domed lid surmounted by a tall stem and disc-shaped knob. The lid is decorated in panels with profile heads of Ladies of Fashion, their coiffure arranged in sakkos and the jewellery highlighted in added white. Radiating palmettes occupy the intervening fields, and a wave-pattern frieze runs around the edge. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 2021.40.31a, b.
