HELLENISTIC CORE-FORMED GLASS AMPHORISKOS.
Ca. 300 - 200 BC. An amphoriskos made using the core-forming technique, with a dark body tapering to a pointed base and a short cylindrical neck flaring to a wide mouth. Two applied handles extend from the shoulder to the neck. The surface is decorated with a feathered pattern of marvered white, red, and yellow threads drawn into vertical festoons across the body. Comes with a modern display stand. Size: 102mm x 54mm; Weight: 138g Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Private collection 1970s-1990s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
