ROMAN GILDED BRONZE CUPID FIGURINE. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A bronze figurine of Cupid, nude and striding with the left leg advanced and the torso slightly twisted. The right arm is raised in gesture, the left arm lowered. The rounded head is framed by tight curls. A narrow strap crosses the chest, and a mantle loops over the left forearm and trails across the back. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 19.192.54. Size: 74mm x 30mm; Weight: 71g Provenance: Private UK collection; From an old British collection formed in the 1990s.
