PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD EARRINGS.
Ca. AD 100 - 300.
A matched pair of gold earrings with domed ovoid upper plaques and a cluster pendant of hollow bosses. Each earring is formed from a thin sheet backed by a narrow plaited strip. A pair of tight filigree volutes sits at the lower edge above a short tubular collar. The pendant is arranged as four hollow hemispherical bosses, each within a beaded circlet and flanked by short panels of fine granules.
