ROMAN RED GARNET INTAGLIO DEPICTING VENUS IN GOLD RING. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A red garnet intaglio engraved with Venus standing left. The figure shown in profile is wearing a chiton. Set in an oval gold collet framed by a beaded collar of small bosses and mounted on a D-section band. The ring of a possibly later period.
