ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO DEPICTING A STANDING GODDESS IN GOLD RING.
Ca. AD 50 - 200.
A red carnelian intaglio engraved with a draped standing goddess facing left. The gem sits in an oval gold collet from which broad tapering shoulders run to a flat-band hoop of sub-rectangular section that narrows towards the back. The ring of a possibly later period.

Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the German art market, Munich before 2000.
