STUNNING ROMAN GLASS RING DEPICTING NEREID RIDING SEAHORSE. Ca. 100 BC - AD 100. A translucent pale-green glass ring with a rounded hoop that thickens at the shoulders into a broad flat bezel depicting a Nereid astride a hippocamp. The creature with equine foreparts and a coiled fish-tail, the nymph seated side-saddle. For similar see: The British Museum, Museum number 1923,0401.154; 1903,1013.5 (decoration).
