ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO WITH EROTIC SCENE IN GOLD RING. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A carnelian intaglio engraved with an erotic scene, a winged figure in profile embracing a nude companion beside a stepped support, set within a high oval gold collet of a broad, flat-sectioned ring of a possibly later period. Size: D:17.32mm / US: 7 / UK: N 1/2; Weight: 9g Provenance: Private London collection; previously in a 1990s UK Ancient art collection.
