ROMAN BRONZE VOTIVE STATUETTE OF A CHILD. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A bronze votive figure of a seated child, solid-cast and naturalistically modelled with a rounded abdomen and fleshy limbs. The large head inclines forward with a downcast gaze; the right hand is extended, the left lowered beside the thigh, and the legs are splayed with the feet turned outward. For similar see: The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Object Number: 07.286.94. Size: 40mm x 30mm; Weight: 70g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in Germany; formerly with Mr. Toussaint collection, Holland 1980s-1990s.
