ROMAN AGATE CAMEO DEPICTING A THEATRICAL MASK IN GOLD RING.
Ca. AD 100 - 300.
An agate cameo carved in white over a brown ground with a theatre mask in left profile. The open mouth, arched brow and pronounced nose cut in relief, with fillet-bound hair framing the face. Set in an oval gold collet of a gold ring with broad faceted shoulders that taper towards the back.
