ROMAN BRONZE FITTING WITH BULL'S HEAD. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A cast bronze fitting with a projecting bull’s head on a broad, flat plate. The head is frontal with upturned horns, small ears, and a rounded muzzle. The plate has softly rounded edges with a short pointed lug at the base, and two circular bosses near the lateral corners. A large central loop is set on the reverse. Size: 65mm x 60mm; Weight: 108g Provenance: From an old British collection formed in the 1990s; previously acquired in Belgium.
