COLLECTION OF ROMAN AND BYZANTINE TERRACOTTA OIL LAMPS WITH MOULDED DECORATION.
Ca. AD 1 - 300.
A collection of three terracotta oil lamps, including, from left to right: a pear-shaped lamp with a pointed rear lug, the shoulder moulded with a repeating pattern around a circular filling hole, and a short tubular nozzle with round wick hole; a round-bodied lamp with broad concave discus moulded as a multi-petalled rosette surrounding a central filling hole; a pear-shaped lamp with a pointed rear lug, the shoulder decorated with a double beaded wreath.
