PAIR OF ROMAN GOLD AND EMERALD EARRINGS WITH PENDANTS. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A matched pair of gold earrings, each formed as an ovoid wire hoop with a simple hook fastening, the lower junction bound with a tight coil from which descends a gold pin carrying a barrel-shaped emerald bead and terminating in a small globule. Size: 30-35mm x 10-10mm; Weight: 2g Provenance: Private London collection; acquired in France in the early 2000s; formerly in a Swiss private collection formed in the 1980s and 1990s.
