Description

ROMAN CARNELIAN INTAGLIO WITH HORSE AND SCRIPT SET IN GOLD RING. Ca. AD 1 - 300. A carnelian intaglio engraved with a running quadruped to the right and a line of script above. The stone is drilled on the long axis and set in a swivel gold ring with a round-section hoop. Each finial features a small cluster of granules and multiple coils.
